Missy, my groodle who will greet you like a therapy dog. If dogs aren't your thing, no problem she can chill elsewhere.
ABOUT ME
Tammy Hales is a Myotherapist and trained Pilates Instructor with over 20 years of experience helping people reduce pain, improve movement, and return to the activities that bring them the most joy.
Tammy’s passion for healthcare began as a young gymnast. After experiencing many injuries and seeking out treatment to help her body recover, she became fascinated by movement, exercise, dance, and rehabilitation. This journey inspired her to help others manage their pain, restore function, and achieve their goals. Myotherapy felt like the perfect fit—combining hands-on therapy with corrective exercise and functional movement.
Graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy from RMIT University in 2005, Tammy has worked collaboratively alongside chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, Myotherapists, and remedial massage therapists. Her career also includes valuable experience with elite organisations such as Melbourne Storm, the National Institute of Circus Arts, VIS Gymnastics, MLC Gymnastics, and the Australian Ballet, providing her with a unique perspective on performance, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
Tammy also holds a Diploma of Pilates, which she integrates into her practice to support long-term recovery and strength.
She has developed special interests in corrective exercise, TMJ dysfunction, headaches and migraines, neck dysfunction, and postnatal care.
Tammy loves working alongside her patients to unpick the root cause of pain—whether it stems from lifestyle factors, biomechanics, posture, sleep, stress, or work set-up. She is passionate about helping her patients not just manage pain, but understand it, discover what is contributing to it, and learn how to make changes that create long-lasting outcomes.
In 2024, Tammy completed an ADHD Coaching course, which expanded her understanding of neurodiversity and the unique challenges many patients face. This additional training has enhanced her ability to adapt treatments, communication, and exercise programs to better support her neurodiverse clients, particularly those with ADHD.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Tammy regularly attends professional conferences, training workshops, and advanced clinical courses. Her approach is holistic, evidence-based, and person-centred, ensuring every client receives care that is tailored to their body, lifestyle, and goals.
Tammy combines the hands-on of Myotherapy with the functional benefits of Pilates and movement retraining to deliver practical, empowering care. Her mission is simple: to help people move well, feel better, and get back to the things that bring them the most joy in life.
